LOC DIEU site (3.5 kms)

Cistercian abbey (12th century) and splendid Castle at the foot of a lake.
The site is located in a huge park of 40 hectares.
A magnificent romantic setting to tell you the story of the oldest Cistercian abbey of Rouergue, fortified: characteristics that make this place an exceptional site.

At the same time, in a preserved natural site, visit the Cistercian Abbey of Beaulieu-en-Rouergue founded in 1144, (18 kms away): taking advantage of the serenity of the place, you will also enjoy discovering a Contemporary Art center.

THE ROYAL BASTIDE OF VILLEFRANCHE (11 kms)

-The Place Notre Dame and its arcades, at its feet the imposing Collegiate Church (13th-16th century),
-The Pont des Consuls, built in 1321, spans the Aveyron. On this bridge stands the bronze statue of the Archangel Saint Michael.
-The Chapel of the Black Penitents (1642-1671): modest in appearance and appearance on the outside, it reveals remarkable Baroque sculptures and paintings inside.

THE BASTIDE OF VILLENEUVE D'AVEYRON (20kms)

-The City and all its charms will draw you into the medieval atmosphere.
-The Maison de la Photo Jean-Marie Périer, presents original prints by the famous photographer, covering
the stars of the 60s and 70s. Eight rooms on 3 levels, to admire these formidable photographs displayed in one of the most beautiful residences of Villeneuve d'Aveyron.

About the Ségala, here is a quick overview :

-Belcastel (46 kms): still one of the most beautiful villages in France: its 11th century castle overlooks the village, the old bridge spans the river.
-The Mirabel site (39 kms away): nestled in the countryside, it overlooks the Aveyron valley and gives free rein to hiking trails.
-Bournazel (40 kms): its remarkable Renaissance chateau and its gardens, restored faithfully in the 16th century style.

 Belcastel, its castle on the heights and its charming village: an admirable medieval heritage.

Still in Belcastel, the Vieux Pont, just as pleasant to linger a little longer.


Mirabel: a site surrounded by nature, ideal for admiring the Aveyron valley
 while enjoying the peace and the fresh air.


 Bournazel: an imposing wooden door to go through to access the courtyard and the magnificent Renaissance castle.




The castle is classified as a Historic Monument and its gardens as Remarkable Gardens: splendid expressions of the Renaissance style.

-Rodez (64 km): the imposing pink sandstone Cathedral (13th-16th) on the Place d'Armes, the historic center, the Soulages Museum and the Denys Puech Museum.

-The Caves of Foissac (28 kms): classified as a historic monument.

-St Antonin-Noble-Val (30kms): Medieval city and magnificent gorges of the Aveyron. Ideal landscape for mountain biking, hiking, canoeing or paragliding.

-St Cirq-Lapopie (33kms): medieval village classified among the most beautiful in France and overlooking the Lot river. Multiple stalls where craftsmanship is king, open around the alleys.

-Château de Cèneviéres (35 kms): magnificent Renaissance castle whose history will be told to you by the lords of the area, owners of the premises.

-Cordes-sur-Ciel (38 kms): Medieval village, high perched and full of charm. A real enchanted break for the visitor.

-Conques en Rouergue (68 kms): listed among the most beautiful villages in France, the houses surround the Abbey of Ste Foy and the precious treasure of Conques, a true masterpiece of medieval goldsmithing. One of the great sites of Occitanie in a magnificent natural setting.

-Bruniquel (53 kms): classified as the most beautiful village in France, it is overlooked by two castles, one from the 12th and 13th centuries and the second from the 15th century. Both are classified historical monuments and are revealed on the rock, above the gorges of the Aveyron.


 The city of Rodez: it has the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire label.

Place d'Armes, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Rodez whose construction will extend from the 13th to the 16th century. The Bell Tower of Rodez Cathedral, 87 meters high.
